Turning a dream into a multi-million-dollar powerhouse

When Vietnamese entrepreneur Cuong Pham had a dream to recreate the artisanal fish sauce of his youth, all he had to do was create the product. We did the rest.

Starting in 2011, we worked alongside Cuong, functioning as the business's CMO and sales director arms. Our strategy was to use mainstream chefs and influencers to spread the word about Red Boat’s unique umami qualities. It wasn’t just fish sauce; it was a secret ingredient to fantastic flavor. What began as a fledgling partnership is now a multi-million-dollar powerhouse.  

We developed and executed a marketing and distribution strategy that successfully placed the product in US regional and national distributors (UNFI, Kehe, DPI, Chef’s Warehouse, World’s Best Cheese, Sysco, etc…) and in thousands of retail and food service outlets (Kroger, Whole Foods (prepared food & retail), Sprouts, Trader Joe’s, Compass, independents, QSR, etc.).

Results:

  • Considered the gold standard of fish sauce by leading chefs and consumers worldwide

  • From 0 to $15 million+ in worldwide sales with only 1 product

  • From 0 to 8,500 retail and outlets with only 1 SKU

  • From 0 to thousands of leading white table cloth and fast-casual concepts
