When David Yourd founded Philosophy Foods in 2014 as an importer and master distributor of artisan foods from Spain, his mission was to build a platform for complementary, sustainable producers to introduce and expand their brands across the United States.
Beginning with two producers from Spain, OMED Olive Oil and Aceitunas Losada, Philosophy Foods quickly became these companies’ largest importer globally.
David implemented a holistic sales, marketing, and logistics strategy that demonstrated results while remaining cost-effective for the producers. Beginning in New York and expanding to Chicago and Dallas, Dave worked methodically market by market, providing training and support to merchant and distributor partners.
